For this week, I had a couple of 'OMG! I DIDN'T KNOW ABOUT THIS' moments, which involved some of my older fandoms.

1.Final Fantasy Tactics:The War of the Lions - I swear I didn't know that this game has been remade as a PSP game, and that Square-Enix has added anime cut scenes.(Plus 2 new characters from other FF games but I don't really care about them) Why didn't Squaresoft think of doing that before? So we non-PSP owners missed the chance to see the scene below in a non-sprite version:

Thankfully, there are PSP emulators online and I also found a site where I can download the game. I have to remove some unnecessary files from my harddrive though because the game is 99 mb and I don't have much space left. Another thing that stops me from downloading the game is that I'm still playing Tactics Advance and I want to finish it first. Surely, I won't be able to do that when I start playng Tactics.

Speaking of Tactics Advance, I have already cleared sixty-three missions in twenty-five hours and four minutes. And I already got my very first Ninja. Sadly, Tactics Advance's Ninja class doesn't travel as far as its Tactics counterpart. But they're still good for long-range attacks. I have yet to check though if they have the Two-Sword ability as well. But so far my two new favorite job classes are the Sniper class and the Fencer class (which are both Viera jobs). I like the Sniper's Beso Toxico, a long-range attack that not only inflicts damage but also Poison as well. For the Fencer class, I like Swallowtail. It's a short-range attack but can inflict a good amount of damage on the enemy's HP. These two have been making my battles a breeze.

2.Gundam Rx78-2 1:1 scale in Odaiba - I swear I was shocked when I saw this. A decade ago, I could only dream about a seeing a Gundam built in 1:1 scale. Who would've thought for Gundam's 30th Anniversary, they'd have this giant Rx78-2 for display! Just look at the details of that thing. *_* It's missing its shield though but that's not important. What matters is that it exists...or should, I say, existed. It sucks that the model was taken own last month. Couldn't they have just moved it to someplace else?

Meanwhile, seeing that Rx78-2 model reminded me of the one I own. It's a 20th Anniversary edition of Rx78-2 which my Dad got for me. To be honest , my favorite UC Gundam, design-wise, was Rx78-GP01fb but Rx78-2 is still special to me. It is the very first Gundam ,aftr all. I just don't like its weapons system. I rarely used it when I was playing Char's Counterattack.

But I digress.

So, I checked my Rx-78-2 and I saw that some of its labels are already faded and the others are starting to fade. Seeing the shiny Rx78 in Odaiba made me wish that I took extra care of my own. I just have to remind myself that I'm going for the battle-damaged look. LOL.
The rest of my model kits are in chaos right now, actually. My mom tells me to put everythng in order but I told her I'm trying to show an after war scenario.

The truth is I'm just lazy. XD

I don't like chapter 266. Don't get me wrong. It's not a bad chapter. How can any chapter with Sun Ce in it be bad? Plus, it has lots of Zhou Yu. It's been a while since I've seen a chapter that has in him in it and where he's commanding an army again. The Wu looks so cool in this chapter. Now, I don't know which faction I like more: Wu or Wei. Strangely, I still could not care less about Shu, even though Zhang Fei's one of my favorites. And Pang Tong. And Kongming. And Zhao Yun.

But I digress.

The main and only reason why I don't like 266 bcause of the appearance of a certain man whom we'll call Yu Ji during the last few pages of the chapter. He's a glaring warning sign to every Sun Ce fan that our precious Wu leader would be having a reunion with Sun Jian real soon. What sucks even more is that after Sun Ce, one by one, my other favorite characters will be kicking the bucket. But to be honest, I'm also excited as to how the Sun Ce/Yu Ji storyline will be presented.

On the petty side of things, I find Zhou Yu very beautiful while he was commanding the army. And he's looking more and more like Zhongda. I find it funny that Chen Mou intentionally gave an almost identical chracter design to two of Kongming's least favorite people. As what Pang Tong said in one of the chapters, Kongming really seems to dislike the same kind of people.

Meanwhile, I'm looking up reviews for Souten Kouro, a Japanese adaptation of the Three Kingdoms period which has Cao Cao as the protagonist. It has recently been turned into an anime by MADHOUSE. I want to see it and check if it's any good, but I fear I may not be able to watch it without comparing it Ravages of Time. RoT has become my gauge for recent adaptations. If it can't surpass RoT or at least, be on par with it, then I won't continue to watch or read it. (Especially if it turns Cao Cao and the rest of the generals into big-breasted, moe chicks. Thank you, Koihime Musou for breaking my brain.)

I went and watched Transformers 2:Revenge of the Fallen yesterday. Apart from the action sequences, it was pretty average. I wasn’t that satisfied. I have already posted about this in my Wordpress, but just to summarize , here are my thoughts about the movie in bullet form, complete with some fangirling and some whining.

Now from Transformers, I move to Evangelion 2.0: You Can (Not) Advance. I haven’t seen the actual movie yet actually, so I’m basing these thoughts mainly on the reviews and the detailed summaries I’ve seen online.

Oh shit. Evangelion has been remade and I did not know about this until now? And to think I call myself a fan. Some fan he? Anyway, I found the trailer for Evangelion 2.0 You Can (Not) Advance, the second part of the Rebuild tetralogy (otherwise known as Hideaki Anno’s attempt to milk some money out of a very old cow).



From what I’ve seen (and read about) , the movie will cover Asuka’ s arrival up to her and Shinji’s fight with one of the Angels, but with some changes. For one, there’s a new character was added—some girl named Mari Makinami Illustrious. Also, the EVA Unit 02 has been redesigned and Asuka’s last name was changed from Sohryu to Shikinami, to continue the Japanese maritime vessel name trend. Personally, I prefer Asuka Langley Sohryu to Asuka Langley Shikinami. The former sounds way cooler, more apt for a bitchy badass like Asuka.

But changes or no, the remaking of Evangelion became a very good news for someone like me who has recently rediscovered my love for Evangelion through Gakuen Datenrokou, the AU Evangelion spin-off manga that is serialized in Asuka. The manga features the Angels taking human forms while the EVAs manifest as handheld weapons. I like it much better than Angelic Days because of the art, the characterization (no cheerful Rei here) and the storyline. The only thing I like about Angelic Days is the sheer Asuka/Shinji-ness of it. (As if my icon isn’t obvious enough, I am Asuka/Shinji-biased. XD)

Going back to EVA 2.0, it’s set to show this coming June 27th. Hopefully, I’ll be able to find a torrent for it. (Leecher! XD)

And what’s this--- there is a plan for an Evangelion live-action film? No kidding? I wonder who they will cast for the movie. I wonder if it will be good. Well, I sure hope so. Meanwhile, I’d like to share this fanmade trailer I found in youtube. This has to be one of the best fanmade trailers I’ve seen for any fandom. The editing, the music—they were all perfect. The idea about Kirsten Dunst as Asuka is a bit amusing though. And who is Keanu Reeves supposed to be? Kaji? Hyuuga? Probably not Gendou because as much as I like Keanu, I don’t think he’ll pass for a believable Gendou Ikari.

I finished watching D.gray 08 and Reborn 08 a while ago. Oh my, these two episodes just made my day. The D.gray anime has changed several things from the manga version (What the hell is Kanda still doing in the HQ! He's supposed to have gone off on a mission already. I sense a pandering to the Kanda fans...) but it was still full of crack so I didn't mind. Komui and Komurin are both made of win-.

Just like Reborn!'s Dino.

It's no secret how much I love Dino. His devotion to his Mafia family and the Cavallone's loyalty to him is just so adorable--and so is his tendecy to become clusmy whenever Romario and the others are not around. He's so much worse than Tuna Tsuna. The opening really cracked me up because it was supposed to be a very dramatic scene, the Dino fell down the stairs and the whole mood was just ruined XD

Nothing much was changed in this episode except for the presence of Haru during the kidnapping scene. I don't know why they had to include poor Haru there as she served no purpose in that scene.

Anywa, this morning's episode was the Shamal chapter. Ani!Reborn isn't being chronological, I noticed. Also, it seems it'll be skipping the rest of the Dino chapters in volume 4,too. Probably by next week, the Famiglia Tomaso will be making their appearance, then the Saturday after that,it'll be the episode with Colonello and Skull . I'm sensing the Kokuyo arc drawing near...

Finally, Chikusa,Ken,Mukuro,Lanchia! some real action.

1)So the 'established manga-ka' have been named ,though these are still speculations:One is Obata Takeshi (I'm not surprised here because the clue was really obvious) and other is Takei Hiroyuki,who in case in you didn't know is the manga-ka for Shaman King.

Okay so according to the rumors , Obata's manga is called 'Ral Grado'. There has been no announcement whether he would be teaming with a writer again. Maybe he'll finally go solo? Soo or not,it really doesn't matter....

2)My head's hurting a bit.The Houshin verus Killing thing in Houshin Engi is making me confused. It's a good qustion for debate though:Do you consider houshin-ing a form of murder even if Genshitenson-sama say it's not?

3)Target 121:Another chapter to prove the Tsuna nonbelievers that the Vongola Juudaime can kick ass. yeah you show them Tuna...er I mean Tsuna! Something shocking in this chapter though:( S P O I L E R S )

Finally, the episode I've been waiting for--an episode with Bianchi and Lambo. Target 3 combines Targets 7,9 and 10 from the manga, with quite a number of modifications.I'm still not pleased about the whole rewriting of Yamamoto's storyline,thus resulting to the absence of Target 8 and the really blatant Yamamoto x Tsuna x Gokudera subtext in this episode,but my main reasons for watching Target 3 are Lambo and Bianchi, and I got my Lambo and Bianchi fix so I'm satisfied.XD

I don't know about what other people think but I think Child!Lambo's voice suits him fine. Adult!Lambo,meanwhile, sounds so suave and cool--which is how I really imagined him to sound like. He sounds (and looks) funny when he cries though. Such a crybaby even when he's already fifteen.XP

Next episode,based from the preview, will have more Haru. I'm assuming the Ryohei chapter, and even the Shamal chapter might be used for tomorrow's ep since I don't think the entirety of Target 11 is long enough for a 30-minute anime.

1)Fandoms are really amusing sometimes. In the Naruto fandom, people are complaining that Kishimoto is a wuss for not being able to kill off his characters—and when he does, he kills off a character who isn’t really important to the story/who barely gets enough panel time. We, on the other hand in the Houshin Engi fandom, used to hear complaints about how cruel FujiRyuu is because he likes to kill (in the most tragic and heartbreaking ways too) his characters, the important fan favorites to be exact.( I think his penchant for murder caused Houshin’s rankings to be unstable back then.) Talk about ironic.

2)See my new default icon? I am currently writing a fic about them. Yes, they are together in the same fic. Yes, it’s romance. No,I-pin is not in her 10 years later!form.

By the way,I finally saw the opening for Busou Renkin.I love it very much.As a matter of fact,of all the WJ anime that had premiered this October, Busou Renkin's OP is my top favorite. I like song and the animation.Tokiko and the Valkyrie skirt <3. Ditto for Kazuki (who looks much cuter in the anime than in the manga...well,in some shots anyway.)

But I need to catch up with the episodes. As of now,I've only seen episode one, for Reborn and D.Gray have been taking away my vieweing time.

4)Re-reading Waqwaq for fanfic purposes. I'm supposed to be doing so that I can write LeoMatsu more efficiently for the otp_100 but damn you, LeoKnoll and KnollAllan. I'm getting plotbunnies for you instead.

5)Finished a Yamato/Bianchi for 15pairings and another Lambo/I-pin for 52_flavours. I don't really like how the YamaBia fic turned out.:(

Now on to plan for some DinoHiba and YamaReborn...

Ciaossu! I just finished watching Target 02 and I have to say that I'm disappointed. Yes, I know was raving last night about how good it'll be because Gokudera's in it but the very noticeable changes in this episode left me unsatisfied. And what changes are those?

Everything's happening so fast in Reborn. Next episode a certain cow from Bovino Famiglia is already going to make his first appearance (and OMG! his animated 10 years later form is just ...hot ). It seems the scriptwriters want the character introductions to be finished quickly so they could already go to the best parts. Though I love the "Daily life" chapters for their hilariousness and the vast amounts of Dino appearances,I think it's a wise decision to edit off many of the pre-Kokuyo chapters because animating all of them might turn off some people who don't follow the manga by making them think that Reborn! is just all about gags. It has a plot,yo, and it is defenitely one of the more violent (*eherm*Hibari*eherm*Gokudera*eherm*) and disturbing (insert recent spoilers. insert my beloved Reborn x Bianchi canon-ness) yet entertaining series on WJ right now. Plus, Tsuna is cool. Believe me, he is. XD

Anyway,I wonder how much toning down will Reborn! undergo considering it's a morning show. I hope not too much because toning down a series sometimes means you have to erase the best parts. Man,I just hope it won't suffer the same fate that Houshin Engi had.

Moving on--I joined another challenge community...again. It's called 15pairings. The main goal of this comm is to write 15 different pairings under one fandom. My initial choice of fandom was Waqwaq but since I'm already doing otp_100,and since I don't think I'll be comfortable writing anything beyond LeoGod,LeoKnoll,and Kagami, I decided to choose another one. I'll probably watch this after I take my exam tomorrow.And then maybe I shall start finishing those requests and start writing long (at least 1,500 words)oneshots again.
